Sri Lanka has been a popular place of destination of foreign travelers for many centuries. The number of Sri Lankans participating in domestic excursions yearly exceeds six million. Rich Sri Lankan culture dates back over 2500 years. World heritage sites include Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Polonnaruwa,  Sigiriya, Dambulla cave temple, Anuradhapura,  Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, Galle and  Sinharaja Forest Reserve. There are many other archaeological protected sites and monuments in the country. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's ancient capital, has many historical ruins that are more than 2,000 years.

Colombo is a large business, cultural and educational centre. The most popular sights in Colombo are Galle Face Green, the University of Colombo, the National Museum, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Viharamahadevi Park, Beira Lake, Colombo Racecourse, Planetarium,  Mount Lavinia beach, Colombo Lotus Tower (under construction). 

24 wildlife reserves is a home of countless species such as Asian elephants, leopards, sloth bears, deers, purple-faced langurs, wild boars, porcupines and Indian pangolins. Sri Lanka is one of 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country that has been called “the pearl of the Indian Ocean.
